The model HV70M high performance ignition system is Features
Part number 99001 The HV70M series ignition detailed instructions make for an easy and quick installation by anyone with only the most basic automotive skills. A condensed copy of the installation instructions can be referenced here. The real beauty behind the installation of the unit is that the existing ignition system remains in the vehicle. Only the stock coil is disconnected and bypassed. No wires of the stock system are cut or otherwise removed. In the event that the vehicle is sold, the HV70M can be easily removed for use on the new vehicle and the stock
the latest in Aurora's line up of performance ignition component upgrades for cars, trucks, RVs, boats and industrial applications. An onboard microprocessor calculates the output power curve for a wide range of driving/load conditions. Whether city driving, enjoying your performance car, pulling a trailer up a steep mountain highway, etc., the HV70M delivers additional spark energy for improved performance and drivability. Check out the Tech Articles and the Frequently Asked Questions link for more information on how performance ignitions work.

For GM HEI installations, where the stock coil is located in the distributor cap, an Aurora cap adaptor is required. Unlike the majority of installations where the stock coil is simply disconnected, GM HEI vehicles require that the stock coil be removed (and stored in a safe place for later reuse if necessary). The dust cover on top of the distributor is replaced with Aurora's cap adaptor. A coil lead can then run from the distributor cap to the remote HV70M ignition.

For some installations and most notably for Class A or C motor homes, a longer coil lead may be required. The Aurora system comes with a 3 foot coil lead that is long enough for most applications (it can be cut to the desired length if necessary). Where a longer coil l
ead is required, a 6 foot coil lead extension kit is available (part number 99004) for easy placement of the unit in any part of the engine compartment. Despite the length of this wire, with only 400 ohms/foot of resistance, a 6 foot length of Aurora Super Mag Plus wire has only 2,400 ohms of resistance, less than one foot of carbon core!
